The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series is pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, August 31st will feature Ayala Sella and Marion Stein

The reading will occur at BAR on A at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.

Ayala Sella was born in Israel and moved to the United States at the age of four. She has spent the past years traveling between these two countries and currently lives in Brooklyn. Her first book, a collection of poetry entitled soliloquies of a crosswalker has just been released by Wasteland Press. Her poems have appeared in The 22 Magazine, and her first interview will be published in the KGB Lit Magazine later this month. She has work forthcoming in the New York Quarterly.

Marion Stein will read from her novel Loisaida – A New York Story, a gritty tale inspired by real events – an aspiring dancer slain, her corpse dismembered, possibly fed to the homeless in Tompkins Square Park. The psychotic roommate has confessed, but a dilettante actor turned journalist thinks there’s more to it and investigates. Set in New York’s pre-gentrified East Village, circa 1988, the era of greed, when the poor are objects of scorn not sympathy, and the gentrifiers view themselves as urban pioneers. This is a story, about sex, drugs and real estate set back when NYC still had an edge.
