The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series is pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th will feature The Dirty Poet, Karen Lillis, and Mike DeCapite.
The reading will occur at BAR on A at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.
The Dirty Poet was born in Northern New Jersey during the Cold War. A veteran of the New York punk music scene of the 1980s and 90s, his poems have appeared in numerous publications and have been recited on many stages. He works in a trauma center in a major metropolitan area. Emergency Room Wrestling (Words Like Kudzu Press, 2011) is the first published collection of his writing.
Karen Lillis is the author of four books of fiction, most recently Watch the Doors as They Close (Spuyten Duyvil Novella Series, 2012). Her writing has appeared in Anderbo, Long Shot, New York Nights, Public Illumination Magazine, Pulse Berlin, and Sensitive Skin, among others, and she has read on stages from coast to coast and in Paris. She is currently writing a memoir about her years working at St Mark’s Bookshop, called Bagging the Beats at Midnight.
Mike DeCapite is the author of the novels Through the Windshield (Sparkle Street Books, 1998) and Ruined for Life! (excerpts of which have appeared in 3:AM Magazine and Sensitive Skin), and the chapbooks Sitting Pretty (CUZ Editions, 1999) and Creamsicle Blue (Sparkle Street, 2012). He lives in New York City, where he’s working on a novella.
