The Guerrilla Lit Reading Series is pleased to announce that our reading scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th will feature Susana H. Case, Laurence Klavan, and Luke Wiget.
The reading will occur in The Back Room at Jimmy’s No. 43 at 7:30 PM. The event is FREE and open to the public.
Born and raised in New York, Susana H. Case is a Professor and Program Coordinator at the New York Institute of Technology. Her photos have appeared in Blue Hour Magazine, pacificREVIEW, and San Pedro River Review, among others. Author of several chapbooks, her Slapering Hol Press chapbook, The Scottish Café, was published in a dual-language version, Kawiarnia Szkocka, by Poland’s Opole University Press. She is the author of four full-length collections, including Elvis Presley’s Hips & Mick Jagger’s Lips (Anaphora Literary Press), and, most recently, 4 Rms w Vu (Mayapple Press).
Laurence Klavan is the author of the story collection The Family Unit and Other Fantasies (Chizine Books) and the novels, The Cutting Room and The Shooting Script (Ballantine Books). He won the Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America for his novel, Mrs. White, written under a pseudonym. His graphic novels, City of Spies and Brain Camp, co-written with Susan Kim, were published by First Second Books at Macmillan and their Young Adult fiction series, Wasteland, is currently being published by Harper Collins. His short work has been published in such print and online journals as The Alaska Quarterly, Conjunctions, The Literary Review, Gargoyle, Louisville Review, Natural Bridge, Failbetter, Pank, Stickman Review, Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine, Albedo One, Cafe Irreal, and Morpheus Tales, among many others. He received two Drama Desk nominations for the book and lyrics of Bed and Sofa, the musical produced by the Vineyard Theater in New York and the Finborough Theater in London. His one-act, The Summer Sublet, is included in Best American Short Plays 2000-2001.
Luke Wiget is a writer and musician born and raised in Santa Cruz, California who lives in Brooklyn, New York. His stories have appeared or are forthcoming in decomP, Hobart, SmokeLong Quarterly, Heavy Feather Review, and H.O.W. Journal, among others. Luke is co-curator and host of drDOCTOR, a reading series and podcast in Brooklyn.
